Yom Ha'Atzmaut With Israel Forever

Yom Haatzmaut is Israel’s Independence Day. Yom Haatzmaut begins at the end of Yom Hazikaron, Memorial Day for fallen IDF soldiers and victims of terrorism, an important reminder that we would not be celebrating the second day, without the first day.

Our Independence was gained and is kept through the sacrifice of those who defend our land. Without them, the State of Israel would not, could not exist.

Every day of Israel’s existence is a miracle, biblical prophecy come true. Literally. “Old men and women shall sit once more in the open spaces of Jerusalem… and the open spaces shall be full of boys and girls playing there.” Zechariah 8: 4-5

Throughout the history of humanity, nations have risen and fallen. Indigenous people have been displaced from their land and disappeared into the mists of time. On May 14th, the 5th of the Hebrew Month of Iyyar, 1948, David Ben Gurion read aloud the Declaration of Independence, officially announcing to the world that the Jewish people had returned to our ancestral homeland for the THIRD time.

The Children of Israel returned from slavery in ancient Egypt.

The people of Israel returned from exile in Babylon.

The Jewish people returned from the diaspora, from the harsh unwelcoming countries of Europe and later from the ghettos and the concentration camps to become, once again, free in the land of their ancestors. At which point they promptly reached out to bring home brothers and sisters from Muslim countries, from Africa, India and Russia. No Jew was too far to reach, no governmental restrictions to difficult to overcome, no threat too dangerous – those who wanted to come home, now had a home to come to – and brothers and sisters strong enough to help them make the dream a reality.

No other nation on earth has achieved what the Nation of Israel has accomplished – not one miracle but countless miracles, over and over again.
