Operation Moses - 7,000 Ethiopian Jews were flown to Israel. This was the first of the Ethiopian rescue. During the six week period, beginning November 18, there was a “media blackout” in order to keep the news of the rescue from being known. Approximately 15,000 Jews were still left in Ethiopia and many died in the six week period.
