At the Paris Peace Conference, Emir Faisal (son of Sharif Hussein of Mecca in the name of the Arab State of Hejaz) and Chaim Weizmann (Zionist diplomat and leader in the name of the Zionist Organization) sign the Faisal-Weizmann agreement. It is an agreement of mutual respect and cooperation between Arabs and Jews in the Middle East.
Under the agreement Faisal-Weizmann, Arabs support the full implementation of the Balfour Declaration (1917) and encourage Jewish immigration and settlement in Palestine; At the same time, the Jews must commit the rights and economic advancement of the Arab peasants. Holy places should be under Muslim control.
The Zionist Organization promises to study the economic possibilities of the Arab State and help in the development of its resources. The British government would arbitrate any disagreement that arose between the parties.
Faced with the failure of European promises to the Arabs and Jews, the same year of its signing the Arabs and their representatives repudiated the agreement, its content and its intentions.
The Weizmann-Feisal agreement was never implemented.
