Tu B'Shevat Seder: A Celebration of Israel

As we celebrate the first budding on the almond trees throughout the Land, we are reminded of the continuous rebirth not only of its blossoms, fruits, nuts and grains but also of our personal connection to this land, the homeland of our ancestors.

Israel Forever's newly revised Tu B'Shevat Seder is the first focused solely on the Israel Connection - below is a taste of our innovative and educational content

  • Though there are few hard and fast rules regarding a Tu b'Shevat seder, it generally revolves around Four Cups of Wine.
  • "For the Lord your God is bringing you into a good land, a land with streams and springs and fountains issuing from plain and hill; a land of wheat, barley, of vines, figs and pomegranates; a land of olive trees and (date) honey." Learn more about the Seven Species native to this land.
  • Known in Israel as "Chag Ha'Ilanot" (Ilan אילן= tree), we honor Tu B'Shevat when budding fruit enters a new year of life and the first bulbs of spring are beginning to bloom.
  • Sing along to a Tu B'Shevat favorite - The Almond Tree Is Blooming - a song for the New Year of the Trees celebrating the blossoming of the spring and our Jewish Arbor Day!
  • There are plenty of Arbor Days honored by various countries and cultures, but Tu B’Shevat is so special and so unique, it even has its own seder. Explored in the creation of Israel Forever's Tu B'Shevat Seder was The Meaning of a Birthday.
