The Magic of Israel

There is something totally different about the land of Israel. What is it? Some expectancy in the air, a commemoration going on, something young, fresh, green.
There is an awareness of God- in the young families going about dressed modestly and emanating peace, in the young men praying in the corners of the streets in Jerusalem, in the soldiers ready to defend Israel, praying at the Wall. There is something very different, very amazing in the air.
When I saw it, the whole nation was covered in flowers, of all colors and in profusion. They paint the Judean the roads the ancient walls. as if the whole country was getting ready for a Royal visit. It's like the whole nation is in waiting, in suspended breath, waiting for something, like spring trying to break through.
Everything was shinning under the beautiful skies without any clouds. The sea of Galilee shimmered as if a million stars had dropped in, The air was wonderfully sweet, smelling of the masses of flowering trees ans shrubs and pots and gardens, In Israel, your heart flies free.
There is more- a strong national conscience, blue flags with the star of David everywhere, a moral and political unity, a feeling that the whole Israel is thinking the same, working towards the same goals.
There is a strange poignancy difficult to pinpoint. Your heart melts, you want to cry and laugh, you sense a strong danger and a stronger deliverance.

There is joy about to explode, something very precious around, an engulfing sense of expectancy of the peace we all hope will come soon.
