On Rosh Hashanah...

This classic Israeli song was written and composed by Naomi Shemer and performed by Shokolad, Menta, Mastik (chocolate, mint and bubble gum). This very popular “girl band” performed a number of classic Israeli songs between the years of 1972-1978. The band members were: Yardena Arazi, Ruthie Holzman and Tami Azaria (1972-1973) who was replaced by Leah Lupatin. All three served in the IDF as part of the Nahal Ensemble. The trio performed both in Israel and internationally, especially after being Israel’s 1976 entry to the Eurovision Song Contest with "Emor Shalom".
